I am largely self-taught as a fine art painter, as my job as a scenic artist required me to learn multiple styles. I learned Renaissance style painting during my time in Macau, where I shared an abandoned church as a studio with Master Artist Phillips Slater. I learned a great deal from him, especially how to realistically paint the human form.
Most of my earlier painting was done for the film industry, but more recently, many of my pieces are for private clients who appreciate my talent in various styles. I do expressionist portraits, surrealism, abstracts, and pop art styling. Currently I am experimenting with mixing styles, abstraction with a bit of realism, then deconstructing it. I have been painting quite a bit recently and look forward to having a gallery show in the near future. I work in acrylic and oil, depending on the commission, and I love to use a lot of color.
